Electro-optics

We provide optics and electro-optical design and support for electronics companies and electronics for optics companies.  It helps to speak both languages.

Almost all optical systems require some electronics, either to gather data from a sensor or to provide motion control for precision alignment.  We do that.

One recent project involved a remote fiber-optic temperature sensor.  This system uses non-linear Raman spectroscopy to measure the energy states of the atoms within the fiber.  By launching a pulse of light and sampling the back-scatter we could detect the temperature at each segment along the entire length of the fiber.

We have also teamed up with several optical companies to provide motorized control over lens elements.  This motion provides zoom, focus, and temperature compensation.  And it does so with much greater precision than can be achieved with machined splines.

We are experts in low-light level and high-speed detection.  From counting individual photons to GHz bandwidths we have seen it all.  Not really, but figuratively.

Call us with your project needs.  We are happy to discuss solutions.
